A New Era Begins – Changes to Mukify’s Free Use

Mukify was born in 2021 from a very simple need: collectors wanted to keep their collections safely stored in one place. Easily, and preferably in their pocket as a mobile app.

In just over three years, Mukify has grown into the world’s most comprehensive knowledge base for Moomin collectors, covering all ceramic Moomin items produced by Arabia (Moomin Arabia) from the 1950s to the present day.

Today, Mukify has nearly 29,000 users who have collectively added over 1,000,000 items to their collections. The combined value of these collections already exceeds €30,000,000. A 25-item limit for free users

Mukify remains free to try and use lightly. Going forward, free users can add up to 25 items to their collection, allowing them to explore the app and test nearly all of its features.

For users who registered with Mukify before January 19, we offer a transition period until March 31. During this time, new items can still be added to collections as usual. After the transition period, adding new items will require a Mukify Premium subscription, but all items already added will always remain safely stored, regardless of collection size.

Why this change is being made

Mukify has grown from a small startup into a real service, whose development, maintenance, and continued improvement require increasing resources.

Over the years, we have tested various revenue models and concluded that the only sustainable way to build Mukify is through small subscription fees from active users. We want to keep the Mukify experience as uninterrupted as possible, which is why we have decided to move away from traditional banner advertising.

Our goals are to:

• develop Mukify into an even more versatile tool for collectors
• reach an ever larger share of active Moomin collectors
• introduce new features and views that encourage following and sharing personal collections
• ensure that Mukify remains viable and independent in the long term

Mukify Premium subscribers make the continued development of Mukify possible. We do our best to keep the subscription affordable so that as many users as possible can join our subscriber community.
